Palette Knife Glass (Tranchant du Verre)
Tuesday 13th October – Wednesday 14th October 2020
In this workshop you will be using powdered glass with a suspension medium, in this case Vitrigel, to create similar effects to traditional palette knife painting. This can then be altered, added to and embellished using all of what we have in our world of kiln formed glass techniques and processes. The possibilities are unlimited! Multiple firings using this method gives both dimension and richness as well as depth and vitality to the finished work. This is a really quick, fun and expressive process to create imagery with glass in ways that were previously only in the realm of traditional painting mediums for canvas.
All materials required for the class are included. Students are invited to bring their own basic tools (if you have them)
Suitable for students of all abilities – if you can cut glass you are welcome!
Classes start at 10am on the first day. Refreshments available throughout the day, and a light lunch is included
