This course is ideal for complete beginners who would like an in depth introduction to glass fusing or for people who have done a taster session and would like to continue learning more about glass fusing techniques. \nThe course will run over 6 consecutive Saturday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm.  \nDates for this course are – \n\nSat 5th August 2-4pm\nSat 12th August 2-4pm\nSat 19th August 2-4pm\nSat 26th August 2-4pm\nSat 2nd September 2-4pm\nSat 9th September 2-4pm\n\nOver the course of the sessions topics will include\, Design principles\, Kiln preparation\, Kiln programming\, Choosing glass\, Glass and tool supplies\, Introduction to workshop tools\, Glass cutting\, Full fusing\, Tack fusing\, Slumping\, accessory glass\, inclusions and cold working. \nEach week will be a mixture of glass fusing\, workshop theory and practical applications of what you have been learning. \nYou will leave the end of the 6 week course with a fused glass bowl\, a draped vase\, a set of coasters and a number of other small items and test pieces. \nThese will be of your own design\, so a brilliant opportunity to make gifts or items to match your own decor.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \nWant to spread the cost of your course? Choose a Pay in instalments ticket at the checkout. DESCRIPTION:Fancy trying something new? Discover glass fusing through a taster session at Glassification. \nJoin us for a 2 hour session to play and experiment with fusing glass to create beautiful items to take home and enjoy! \nDiscover new skills as you explore different ways of using coloured glass and embellishments to achieve your designs. Learn the basic skills required from cutting glass\, to combining different glasses and elements to produce your own unique pieces. You will also learn about the kilns used for fusing glass and a basis in firing programmes that will help you to achieve the results you want in your pieces. \nWarning – glass fusing can be highly addictive\, just ask your tutor Nikki\, the owner of Glassification! \nThis is a BEGINNERS course – Suitable for anyone and everyone\, no previous experience is necessary. \nWhat do I need? \nNothing\, just bring yourself and make sure you wear a pair of sturdy closed-toed shoes. The workshop can get a bit chilly in the winter so also dress in layers! \nAll of your glass\, materials\, tools and a cuppa will be provided. \nSessions are 10.30 till 12.30\, but you are welcome to arrive from 10am. \nAccessibility: \nWe will try to make our courses accessible to all\, however if you have any disabilities or physical limitations of any kind we ask that you discuss it with us before booking. This course is on the ground floor of our premises but our toilet facilities are only accessed via stairs. \nLooking for a gift? \nWhy not buy a course as a unique gift? If you’re unsure of a suitable date you can buy a voucher and let them choose their own! Vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase and need to be used to book a specific date within that time.
