Discover glass fusing through a taster session at Glassification. \nJoin us for a 2 hour session to play and experiment with fusing glass to create beautiful items to take home and enjoy! \nDiscover new skills as you explore different ways of using coloured glass and embellishments to achieve your designs. Learn the basic skills required from cutting glass\, to combining different glasses and elements to produce your own unique pieces. You will also learn about the kilns used for fusing glass and a basis in firing programmes that will help you to achieve the results you want in your pieces. \nWarning – glass fusing can be highly addictive\, just ask your tutor Nikki\, the owner of Glassification! \nThis is a BEGINNERS course – Suitable for anyone and everyone\, no previous experience is necessary. \nWhat do I need? \nNothing\, just bring yourself and make sure you wear a pair of sturdy closed-toed shoes. The workshop can get a bit chilly in the winter so also dress in layers! \nAll of your glass\, materials\, tools and a cuppa will be provided. \nSessions are 10.30 till 12.30\, but you are welcome to arrive from 10am. \nAccessibility: \nWe will try to make our courses accessible to all\, however if you have any disabilities or physical limitations of any kind we ask that you discuss it with us before booking. This course is on the ground floor of our premises but our toilet facilities are only accessed via stairs. \nLooking for a gift? \nWhy not buy a course as a unique gift? If you’re unsure of a suitable date you can buy a voucher and let them choose their own! Vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase and need to be used to book a specific date within that time. A booking is not confirmed until the voucher has been validated against a specific date.

DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n\n				\n	\n\nFollowing the success of our recent Craig Mitchell Smith Poppy Masterclasses\, I am pleased to announce that we have secured the amazing Tina Easton for a further two courses in 2023. \nThe 3 day course takes you through the step by step process to make and assemble your own stunning fused glass poppies. Feedback from our courses in June and September was excellent and everyone who has seen them\, says the pictures don’t do them justice. Come and learn to make your own\, you won’t be disappointed. \nTina has learnt the techniques for this Masterclass directly from Craig\, who is pleased to grant her permission to teach the class on his behalf and with use of all his course materials. \nThe Poppies Masterclass is an intensive 3-day course that teaches you all of Craig Mitchell Smith’s techniques for making fused glass poppies – including handouts of Craig’s cutting diagrams\, fusing schedules\, adjustable slumping techniques and mounting for both wall based design and garden sculptures. Each student will have the opportunity to make 1 large red/orange coloured Poppy. Previous students have had great success in selling their sculptures\, proving very popular with customers. You will also be invited to join the Poppies at Glassification private Facebook group\, where you will be able to ask questions\, post pics of your poppy creations and get ongoing support and advice from Tina and the other group members. \nSome previous experience of fusing and cutting skills are required. \nStudents are invited to bring their own basic tools to the workshop – all materials required are provided. \nStart time on day one – 10am \nSee https://www.craig-mitchell.com for more information on Craig Mitchell Smith \nA little background about your tutor\, Tina Easton. \nTina grew up in Sweden where there is a long tradition of glassmaking.
